Bee Cave and Lakeway

Therapy for Bee Cave and Lakeway

For Bee Cave, Lakeway and the communities around Highway 71 and Lake Travis, therapy has to fit a real calendar. My office is in Southwest Austin, not in Bee Cave, so here is how the work can fit around your weeks.

Where the office is, and where it is not

Let me be plain about location. My only office is at 5900 Southwest Pkwy, Building 5, Suite 230, in Southwest Austin. There is no office in Bee Cave or Lakeway. In-person sessions are on Fridays, and some select other times and days as schedules allow. Friday appointments fill first, so if a Friday rhythm would work for you, ask about it early. Some weeks the drive into town is worth it for the steadiness of being in the same room. Other weeks it is not, and that is exactly what the other options are for.

Telehealth for the weeks the drive is not realistic

A full calendar is not a reason to go without support. Online therapy across Texas happens over secure video, from a quiet room at home, a closed door at work, or even a parked car between commitments, as long as you are located in Texas during the session. Sessions are available in English or Spanish, and the fees and the free consultation are the same as in person. You can meet online most weeks and come in on a Friday when it fits, or the other way around.

Intensives when weekly appointments are hard to sustain

If weekly sessions keep falling apart under the weight of your schedule, an intensive may fit better. It is concentrated therapy over one to three days instead of one session a week, with breaks and pacing built in. Longer does not mean forced; safety, consent and your capacity still guide the day. Trauma healing intensives and eating disorder intensives are $1,000 for one day of 6 hours, $1,800 for two days totaling 11 hours, and $2,500 for three days totaling 16 hours. Family therapy intensives are $800 for 4 hours or $1,250 for 6 hours with a 30 to 60 minute lunch break.

Neither format is better than the other. They create different kinds of space, and the free consultation is where we talk plainly about what you want to work on, what the longer format involves, and whether weekly therapy would serve you better. The intensives page compares them side by side, including the shape of a sample day. An intensive may be worth considering when:

  • Momentum matters, and it keeps slipping between weekly sessions
  • Weekly appointments are hard to sustain
  • You are traveling into Austin for focused time

Faith in the room, only if you want it

I am a Christian and seminary trained, with a master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. If you want your faith to be part of therapy, it can be. Biblical counseling is available on request, and my seminary training means we can bring spiritual questions, anger, forgiveness and reconciliation into the work. And if you would rather leave faith outside the room, that is fine: it is never assumed or introduced without your say-so. Christian counseling in Austin is licensed therapy in Texas; Christian coaching is a separate, non-clinical service available in all 50 states and globally.

What a full life can carry

A full schedule can hide a great deal. Stress and burnout, anxiety that keeps you moving, perfectionism that never lets you rest, a marriage under strain, a teenager pulling away: all of it is welcome here, alongside trauma, which is the primary specialty of this practice. You do not need to know which label fits, and you do not need a diagnosis to start. Therapy for burnout and high achievers, anxiety therapy and couples therapy each explain more, and the free consultation is where we work out where to begin.

Bring your calendar to the first call

The free consultation is a 15-minute phone call, and it is a good place to be practical. Bring your calendar. We can talk through whether a Friday rhythm in the office is realistic, which weeks would work better by telehealth, and whether an intensive would serve you better than weekly sessions. Bring cost questions too: individual sessions are $190 for 50 minutes or $275 for 80 minutes, and the initial assessment is 80 minutes and $275. Start with a few lines on the contact form, and the rates page has every fee and policy.

Common Questions

Do you have an office in Bee Cave or Lakeway?

No. The only office is in Southwest Austin, at 5900 Southwest Pkwy, Building 5, Suite 230. Telehealth by secure video is available anywhere in Texas for the weeks you cannot come in.

How much does an intensive cost?

Trauma healing and eating disorder intensives are $1,000 for one day (6 hours), $1,800 for two days (11 hours) and $2,500 for three days (16 hours). Family therapy intensives are $800 for 4 hours, or $1,250 for 6 hours with a 30 to 60 minute lunch break.

Will faith come up if I do not bring it up?

No. Faith is part of therapy only when you want it, and it is never assumed or introduced without your say-so. If you do want it, Biblical counseling is available on request.

Can I mix telehealth and in-person sessions?

Yes. You can meet by telehealth on busy weeks and come to the office on a Friday when it fits. You need to be located in Texas during each telehealth session.

The consultation is free and there is no obligation on either side.
