Telehealth for Houston

Online Therapy for Houston

Houston is a very large, spread-out city, and a weekly round trip to an office can quietly eat an afternoon. Secure video lets you meet with me from wherever you are in the city, in English or Spanish, and spend the time on the work itself.

Getting Your Afternoon Back

When getting to therapy and back takes most of an afternoon, therapy starts competing with everything else in your week, and it tends to lose. Telehealth takes the commute out of the equation. You join from home, from a quiet room at work, or from a parked car between commitments, and the time you set aside goes to the conversation instead of the road. That matters most in the seasons when you need support the most, which are often the seasons with the least room to spare.

There is no Houston office. In-person sessions happen only at my office in Southwest Austin, and Houston sessions happen by secure video. My license is a Texas license, so you need to be located in Texas during each session. On an ordinary week that simply means joining from home, work or your car, and if travel will take you out of state on a session day, tell me ahead of time so we can plan around it.

Therapy Around Shifts and Rotations

If your work runs on shifts, at a refinery, a hospital or a fire station, a standing weekly appointment can feel impossible to keep. Video helps because there is no travel to plan around: you can join from home on a day off or from a quiet spot before you clock in. Bring your schedule to the free consultation. I will tell you plainly which openings I have, and we can see whether they line up with your rotation before you commit to anything.

After the Calls Nobody Else Sees

Emergency and hospital work asks you to stay steady for other people on their worst days, and what you see does not always stay at work. It can come home wearing different clothes: anger, numbness, a drink every night, or never quite being able to sit still. Trauma is my primary specialty, and stress and burnout are part of my work too. For first responders, the care is trauma-informed: it respects what you have seen and moves at the pace you can talk about it. You do not have to retell every call, and you can say no to a topic at any point. The page on therapy for veterans and first responders says more.

Sessions in Spanish for Bilingual Families

In some families, English is the language of work and school, and Spanish is the language of home, of prayer, or of the hardest feelings. Sessions are available in either language, so you never have to translate yourself in the middle of saying something painful. If a parent is more at ease in Spanish, or you simply think more clearly in it, tell me on the consultation and we will start there. The page on terapia en español covers fees and formats in Spanish.

When the strain sits between family members rather than inside one person, family sessions give everyone a seat. They run 80 minutes and cost $275. As a marriage and family therapist, I look at the whole pattern rather than the one person who seems to be carrying it. The page on family therapy in Austin explains how I work with families.

Coming to Austin for Focused Time

If you would rather step away for a few concentrated days than squeeze therapy into a crowded week, an intensive may suit you. Intensives gather the work into one to three days in person in Austin, with breaks and pacing built in, and they can make sense when momentum keeps getting lost between weekly sessions. Trauma healing intensives and eating disorder intensives both offer a one-day, 6-hour format for $1,000. Neither format is better, and we can weigh them honestly on the consultation.

Common Questions

Is there an office in Houston?

No. The only office is in Southwest Austin, at 5900 Southwest Pkwy, Building 5, Suite 230. Houston sessions happen by secure video, and you need to be located in Texas during each one.

Can sessions fit around rotating shifts?

It depends on how my openings line up with your rotation, and I would rather tell you that honestly than overpromise. Bring your schedule to the free 15-minute consultation and we will look at it together.

Do you take insurance?

This is a self-pay practice, and payment is due at the time of service. I provide monthly superbills you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Staying out of network means no diagnosis is filed with an insurer and no plan reviewer decides how many sessions you get.

Can our family meet in Spanish?

Yes. Sessions are available in English and Spanish. Family sessions are 80 minutes and cost $275.

The consultation is free and there is no obligation on either side.
